Another QuickStart Lesson For New IB Users
Two Easy Flowers.
1. The first flower type drawn as shown below is painted with a blending function.

From the "Draw" main menu, select from 'Blending Colors' the 'Blend (Current Fades to Previous) function. Choose a fast change option. Using an up and down stroke draw petals as shown below. These can be retouched until the blend is satisfactory.
Continue drawing petals until your flower is complete.

From the "Things" main menu, use the 'Tapered' brush to draw the flower stems. Go over the main stem with a different color and smaller width to add texture. From the "Paint" main menu, use the 'Two Color Path' freehand drawing functions to draw big leaves. The leaves below were drawn with a dark green current color and light green previous color.

NOTE: If you intend to color fill around the drawing (blue fill above), be sure to draw with the 'Smoothing Option' turned off. Also save as BMP or GIF rather than jpg if you think you may want to copy the flower masking out the current color later. Otherwise, the area around the drawing will appear "dithered". Once your flower is drawn, it can be copied, flipped or rotated, and resized to appear as different flowers.

2. The second flower type drawn as shown below is painted with the 'Two Color Path' freehand drawing function from the "Paint" main menu. The current color is a magenta and the previous color a lighter magenta. The lighter color will be blended into the middle.

This will be drawn using multiple closed path strokes from the outside first, and then continuously smaller closed strokes as the middle is approached. Draw the outside first as below:
Continue drawing smaller toward the inside adding a second but smaller version of the first.

Continue drawing smaller toward the inside adding a third and yet smaller version of the second.

NOTE: Once your flower is drawn, it can be copied, flipped or rotated, and resized to appear as different flowers in a vase flower arrangement. such as shown below.
